ABOUT
Gqeberha's very own James Carl Smith is bringing his incredible musicianship on the keys and guitar, and his soulful, deep voice, back on tour from the Cape.
In recent years James has spent time on Western Cape stages with South African giants such as a Albert Frost and Basson Laubscher, even performing on the main stage at Up the Creek with the legendary guitarist and songwriter Hugo Veldsman.
This show will be something special; with soulful, sometimes experimental, reinterpretations of some of James' favourite songs by well known artists such as Hozier, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and more. We will also get to hear what James has been cooking with some original songs.
During the night he will be joined by local legend, the exceptional Blues and Latin guitarist Rob Thompson, to recapture their chemistry as an incredible duo (Smith & Thompson) on acoustic guitars.
Later in the evening, with things heating up, we have Smith on the keys while being backed by two of Gqeberha's finest and most prolific musicians: Kristo Zondagh on the drums and Tiago Jose Vital on bass.
