ABOUT

WHAT IS ART BOUDOIR?

Art boudoir is a style of photography that draws on classical portraiture and nude photographic traditions and considers the body as simultaneously a still life to be documented and a dynamic vestle of personality.

Art boudoir explores the body as a sculpture or landscape, embracing texture and form, often resulting in abstract or semi abstract images that emphasize movement, stillness or unusual perspectives.

Art boudoir also draws on the long history of portraiture which seeks to capture something of the essence of the sitter, to immortalise a fleeting moment of emotion, be it power, vulnerability or humour.

Images in this realm range from playful to poetic and are an intimate collaboration between photographer and muse, who journey together to explore the universal within the unique and celebrate the magic and transience of our earthly bodies.

SESSIONS

I am opening up six one hour sessions for humans of any gender to come and explore with me and make art with light.

We'll chat before the day about ideas for our session so that we have some direction to begin with, but we'll be holding space for the unexpected and leaning into spontaneity so please bring an open heart.

I have decades of experience working with humans in front of my lens so I am in charge of guiding you through the session. You don't need to have any experience and you won't be left floundering and feeling awkward.

While I am open to exceptions I am leaning into black and white images for these sessions. You will receive 20-30 finished i images and I'm happy to advise you on having prints made should you wish to display some of our work in physical form.

Images will be processed over the course of May and June, so please don't expect an instant turnaround. Art takes time and attention and I am not a machine - please be patient so that I can look after my 30-something spine!

Art of You sessions are limited, I may never offer them again as photography is no longer my active profession.
