Event brief

 Openmic® Festival is a 1-day music and fashion festival that started in 2017 in Gulu. Over the years we have hosted many established and upcoming DJs, artists, fashion designers amongst others from Northern Uganda and beyond. Noticeable musicians such as Lillian Mbabazi, Cindy, Kenneth Mugabi, Apio Moro, Big Tril amongst others have performed alongside some crowd pulling Northern Region artists such as MC Wangjok, Romeo, EeZzy, Pato Loverboy, amongst others have graced our stage.

The upcoming Openmic® Festival will showcase the best artists and DJs from North and West Nile alongside a live band and headlining artist from Kampala. To throw an early Christmas party, we will have the best fireworks display for 2022.

The theme for this edition is African so you can expect a display of rich colorful attire against the contrast of the fresh green garden.

Openmic® Festival is the biggest promoter of Urban culture where family and friends meet in the best outdoor setting like no other. Different food and drinks are sold at pocket friendly prices to allow maximum enjoyment. There will be selected vendors dealing in a range of carefully selected products and services such as 360-degree cameras, VR games, Professional Live Tattooing, Mark up, outdoor games, photography, clothes, Body painting, live portraits, cocktails, etc.

A special corner for children with child friendly games such as bouncing castles, trampoline, face painting, sack races, balloons, etc supervised by trained child minders will be there from 12pm to 6pm.

Openmic Festival is where you get to meet and see friends you haven’t seen in a long time because people plan and travel from all parts of Uganda and beyond. Expect to see the latest fashion trends because our people dress up and show up with their best wardrobe to stand out from the crowd of 3,000 people.

We want to remain the fastest growing and biggest festival in Northern Uganda so expect the production, sound, screens and lighting from Kadanke Brand House. As someone said, The Dark Knight will strike again on Saturday, 17^th December 2022 in a new venue called Jaca Gardens in Laroo next to Gulu University. Make a date with us to experience the famous Openmic Festival.

Gate will open at mid-day and the party starts at 2pm until 6am. We have organized free transport from Gulu City centre to the venue and back for your own safety and convenience.
