Corneal transplant for Thapelo

In 2013 at 22 years old Thapelo was diagnosed with keratoconous on both eyes.The left eye was almost at the end stage of keratoconous and he had to rely on hard scleral lenses for vision.

In September 2021 our deepest fears came true,we were woken up by a sharp pain and water coming out of his left eye.Unfortunately all previously possible sight was lost in his left eye due to a corneal hydrop,since then he has been relying on one eye for work. We went to different ophthalmologists and the only solution is for him to get a corneal transplant.The cornea is purchased overseas and the estimated cost for the overall procedure is a minimum of R100000 for the left eye in Gauteng.There are also post operative traveling costs from limpopo to Gauteng as his specialists are there.There are accomodations costs and medications that need to be used to assist with recovery and the management of allergies.

Please assist the the 31 year old father of two girls under 5 years get his eyesight back,he needs it for work and to improve his quality of life.
