Spring Concert

ABOUT

Our Spring Concert this year will contain gorgeous and exuberant music fit for inviting the new season! Stalwart musicians from the Lowveld will be joined by guest artists Zanta Hofmeyr on the violin and Linette van der Merwe (mezzo-soprano). The program will range from virtuoso pieces like Chopin's "Fantaisie Impromptu", to the toe tapping jazz rendition of Gershwin's "It ain't necessarily so". We will also be exploring some contemporary compositions with Madeleine Dring's trio for flute, oboe and piano, and our very own Franco Prinsloo's "Stilgebed" with a violin obbligato written especially for this concert by the composer. We will however allow ourselves a little bit of drama with Bloch's haunting violin piece "Niggun" and "O Magnum Mysterium" by Ola Gjeilo, where the Nocoré Ensemble will split into 12 different voices!
