Missouri State University Chorale - Kearsney College Choir - KZN Youth Choir

ABOUT

We are exhilarated that Kearsney College will host the Missouri State University Chorale, arguably one of the best choirs from the USA, in concert with the Kearsney College Choir and the KZN Youth Choir. Our special guests will fill our beautiful chapel with an exquisite array of gorgeous choral music, masterfully executed by their soaring Sopranos and ultra-deep Basses. The concert will feature performances by the two most prominent choirs from our province, namely the Kearsney College Choir and the KZN Youth Choir.

Biography - Missouri State University Chorale

The Missouri State University Chorale is the flagship choral ensemble at Missouri State University. Made up of a diverse group of students from a variety of backgrounds, this ensemble performs at an incredibly high level and enjoys an international reputation. This ensemble has performed regularly at conferences of the American Choral Directors Association, Missouri Music Educators Association, and has toured through North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Recent highlights include invited performances for the National Collegiate Choral Organization, national and regional ACDA conferences, and various international tours across Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Cameron F. LaBarr is director of choral studies and the Clif and Gail Smart professor in music at Missouri State University. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Missouri State University and he earned the M.M. and D.M.A. from the University of North Texas where he studied with Jerry McCoy and Richard Sparks. He has completed further study with Simon Carrington and Alice Parker. Choirs under his direction have been selected for performance at various regional, national, and international venues. Dr. LaBarr has worked as guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
