Take the first steps on your sewing journey!

Join us for a morning of sewing at the beautiful Lowry Fabrics in Cape Town. In this workshop, you will become familiarised with your sewing machine, learn the essential techniques needed to begin making your own home-sewn items, and practice your new skills on the perfect beginner project: a tote bag.

This sewing session takes place at Lowry Fabrics, Cape Town's favourite fabric store, famed for its iconic prints and high quality textiles. We will have special access to their scrap collection, which we will be using to make our own patchwork tote bags. Attendees will also be able to enjoy a 20% discount on the day of the workshop.

Who is this workshop for?

For anyone who has a sewing machine but isn't totally sure how to use it/who is sick of trying to teach themselves via YouTube/whose granny gifted them a beautiful Singer that they've always been too scared to plug in.

If you have a sewing machine (or can borrow one for the morning) and want to learn how to make stuff with it, this one is for you!

This workshop is lead by Andie Reeves, a teacher and founder of the Cape Town Craft Club. Andie has been sewing for 15 years and wants everyone to be able to feel the joy and satisfaction that comes from making your own clothes.
