ABOUT

Learn about the shifts in funders' mindsets and practices as they embrace Systems Change work in support of real change

Dear WIPSA friends

We are delighted to be meeting in person for the final event of the year where we will connect, discuss and workshop how the major changes in funding brought on through Covid, are impacting the philanthropy sector. We will explore the move to participatory and trust-based grant-making; community-led philanthropy, and the shifting of the power from funder to grantee through systems change work.

The pandemic has highlighted how our current systems are not designed to deal with complexity and unpredictability. It has become clearer that if we want to create a sustainable and more equitable society, we need new ways of working and collaborating with each other in the philanthropy sector to better address some of our country’s most pressing socio-economic, political, and environmental challenges.

Radical changes to funding practices are being embraced which will ultimately strengthen and empower NPOs. Funders are now fully engaging in participatory and trust-based grant-making and community-led philanthropy allowing for true co-creation and collaboration between funders and NPOs.
