Buying a Rent Roll – Buyer Beware!
Buying a Rent Roll is a major business decision involving a significant amount of money which warrants thorough due diligence and consideration of all the pros’s and con’s.
The interest in rent rolls has definitely increased over the last 12+ months and the reason is relatively obvious – real estate business owners realised during the pandemic and state of disaster that a rental portfolio continued to provide some form of cash flow, despite the obvious challenges!
Like any other business decision, buying a rent roll carries risks – many which aren’t obvious, especially if you have no prior experience of buying a rent roll.
The key to a successful rent roll purchase is to do thorough due diligence to identify and evaluate the risks prior to making an offer and/or finalising the purchase decision.
