An Introduction to Cross-Stitch Workshop

Fri Sep 24, 09:30 - Fri Sep 24, 12:30

Norval Foundation

ABOUT

Come and learn how to create cross-stitched art with Andie Reeves, textile artist and owner of the Cape Town Craft Club. Held at the inspiring Norval Foundation, this workshop is for anyone who wants to learn a new skill, make something beautiful with their hands, and treat themselves to a few hours of quality creative time.

We will spend the morning learning the basics of counted cross-stitch, and begin working on a cross-stitch project. Attendees will learn about cross-stitch fabrics, what needles and threads to use, how to read a cross-stitch pattern, and how to create their own original patterns too.

Cross-stitch is one of the easiest forms of decorative sewing to learn and is perfect for absolute beginners. Participants will walk away with the skills and materials needed to continue their new favourite hobby at home.

Ticket includes all materials. Spaces are limited and all social distancing precautions will be followed.

Norval Foundation is a centre for art and cultural expression. We are dedicated to the research, education and exhibition of 20th- and 21st-century visual art from South Africa and beyond. Located in the Steenberg area of Cape Town, adjacent to Table Mountain National Park, the Norval Foundation combines the experience of art with an appreciation for nature.
