Cape Town City Bowl (TBC)

ABOUT

Dr Jessica Stanbridge is a specialist psychiatrist in Cape Town, South Africa.

She has a special interest in Women's Mental Health, Perinatal Psychiatry and Holistic Psychiatry.

Through the course of her clinical work she has identified a gap in the support of the mental health of women along their journeys of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and into matrescence and beyond.

This workshop is the first of many and looks to offer mental health support and resources to women during these periods with the ultimate aim of making women feel less alone during these challenging times.

All women are welcome.

During the workshop, the following will be addressed:

  1. Fertility, Infertility and Mental Health: How are they linked and what can we do to support our mental health during the difficult periods of miscarriages, failed fertility procedures and challenges falling pregnant.
  2. Pregnancy and Mental Health: Practical Mental Health tips for your pregnancy.
  3. Postpartum and Beyond: The transition into matrescence and the caring for the mental health of the mother.
  4. Support: How to notice when you need to reach out for support and what to do.

Guests will be given a full resource pack that can be used as a guide throughout their lives

Gifts packs also included.

This is also an opportunity for women to create community and to start to reach out for connection with other women experiencing similar life events. It is most importantly, an opportunity for women to feel less alone and to break down the stigma around mental health in women.
